About This Site
The person behind the routes
Why I Started This
My name is Tomáš Novák. I live in Prague and I have been cycling in Czech Republic for more than ten years. What started as weekend rides around the city gradually expanded into multi-day tours across Bohemia and Moravia.
This site exists because I kept finding the same problem: cycling information about Czech Republic is either in Czech, outdated, or written by people who have clearly never ridden the routes they describe. I wanted something in English that was actually useful.
How I Approach Routes
I ride every route I write about, usually more than once. I note surface conditions, signage quality, facilities along the way and any sections that are significantly harder or easier than the official difficulty rating suggests.
I update route information when conditions change. Czech cycling infrastructure has improved considerably in the last decade, and some routes that were rough five years ago are now paved. I try to keep the information current.
I do not accept sponsored content or free products. Everything here is based on personal experience and my own assessment.
What This Site Covers
Currently the site focuses on three routes that I know well and ride regularly: the Bohemia long-distance routes including the Šumavská magistrála, the Vltava River Trail south of Prague, and the Bečva Cycle Path in Moravia.
I plan to add more routes over time, particularly in the Krkonoše and Jeseníky mountain regions where I have been riding more recently.
